I found this last week. I was getting getting frustrated with Onenote, Obsidian, Apple's Journal. I tried Apple notes in the past, but it was so… limited. It seems a lot better now. With the improvements and this system I've been jamming out with notes. I do wish that it had a few more features (apple notes itself). I also wish that when I am on a windows computer, Apple notes web interface didn't stink.

Hello everyone. I'm Ben and I've started re-using Apple Notes again. I've always used this as a temporary notes system. I've been looking at various notes apps until I discovered the Forever Notes. All my notes are currently in a state of - disorganization between Google Keep, Apple Notes and Proton Secure Notes. So my road to this structure will be long and most likely painful - but looking forward to it!

But honestly I do not see any pain from the point at which there is a framework, a structure. With the forevernote approach, there is. So all that remains is a bit of hard work, looking through the notes once... 😉

I'm Lúcia and I'm from Portugal.

I have already walked a long road until today that I found this amazing system. I've tried all sort of planners, bullet journal, OneNote, Notion, Obsidian, Evernote, and the list goes on and on... and nothing has worked. I always seem to miss something.

I have recently changed to the Apple ecosystem and started using Apple Notes. This seems to be a great way of sticking to simplicity and all in one place.

Hi from Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. I am new to Forever✱Notes and I really like the approach to capturing and organizing notes.

I have been an avid note taker and organizer for a long time, but also trying every new app that comes along to find how to best manage my stuff. I spend way too much time looking for the perfect app to organize everything. However, I now realize that its not the app I need but the structure and processes to be more organized and productive.

I have been using the apple ecosystem for a long time and did not use Apple Notes.

The Forever ✱ Notes structure is what i need.

Thank you very much for creating the process, but also forum has such great advice.

French living between France and Vienna (I also saw the Erwin Wurm exhibition 😉)
Long-time user of note-taking apps (Evernote, iAWriter, Ulysses).
Obisidian most recently, but which I ultimately use mainly for long and long-term writing projects.
So I want to use Apple Notes for the notes themselves.
It's an app I always enjoy using because it's "easy." A good balance between ease of use and efficiency.
I discovered this forum after recently discovering the Forever Notes workflow a few days ago.

It seems to me that the font in the forum has changed since about yesterday. For me / on my devices this is not for the better. It is somehow smaller and more delicate and therefore harder to read. Also, the ‘heavy asterisk’ that used to be so characteristic is now just a ‘shadow of its former self’ on the forum homepage. Sensitive characteristics of a forum, which is why I wonder if that is intended or no, @Matthias?

Btw, these new profile tags, is there any info / FAQ on this? What triggers it to be e.g. a "trusted member" and or what has one to do for it?

tr4jan I did some tweaks on the theme of the forum. Could you share a screenshot please? I don't seem to have this issue.

Also, the "Trusted Member" badge was an accidental release. You shouldn't see them anymore. Sorry about that!

An issue with Safari (see attachment) as I have just discovered. Apart from the fact that the font generally looks different, the heavy asterisk is particularly noticeable. I have not changed anything on Safari prior. Deleting the cache did not do the trick thus far . I'll have to investigate that in the next few days I presume.

Hi, my name is satemorej (Jerome in real life). I am from France and have my own business as a woodworker. I previously was engineer in electronics and software for digital TV.
I have just discovered Forever*Notes while using tools like Bear, Todoist and Notion for years now and having tested many apps.

I am convinced that Forever*Notes concepts will be very useful to me. I have already learnt a lot from shortcuts in this forum. For the moment, I face with a great misunderstanding about how to style elements in Notes thanks to shortcuts.

Matthias hi, I came to F*N through your YouTube channel while randomly grabbing information about note taking systems. Great job ! Native and free tools collaborating from iPhone to iPad and MacBook is the main point !

Signifiers seem to be clear in my mind, structuring notes should be fine as well. As a basic user of iOS shortcuts and notes, I spent a lot of time trying again and again to achieve the right shortcut behavior. I above all fail to find user guides from apple.

I'm Kevin - I seem to have found F*N early and started working on how to apply it slowly. The biggest and most beneficial has been in my Masters of Divinity studies. I started what will be a 5+ year (90ish credit) journey in January and wanted a way to link the writing and course content in a way that was dynamic and flexible. This has more than fit the bill and let me focus on what I needed to while knowing that I could flow though related information quickly and without breaking that flow state.

Hi.

I’m a long-time Apple Notes user, using Tiago Forte’s PARA method. My space has become cluttered and bloated (totally my own fault) so I thought while I declutter and tag, I’d see how things look using Forever Notes.

I haven’t quite got my head around it yet, the start in particular. I’ve created the Home page, but don’t know whether it should be part of a dedicated ‘Forever Notes’ folder, or whether that’s unnecessary?

Looking forward to the journey anyway. :-)

Interesting. Some people here have gained experience with PARA. I can warmly recommend first taking a look at the general overview( LINK) and maybe the YouTube videos as well. The FAQ for example, also deal directly with the folder question. So, no, no dedicated "Forever Notes" folder intended. :-)

tr4jan Thank you. I read one review that did just that, and it threw me a bit because there was no mention in the ‘official’ set-up on here.
