Do you have an essential Note you frequently access?

I have note called Jotter (which could be called Clipboard or anything else that takes your fancy). I use it almost daily. I jot down “stuff” random thoughts, drafts for e-mails, copies of online web forms I complete (I fill it in, hit send, but I have no copy). It’s transient copy and paste and now again I’ll go in and move text to a permanent note or delete the text. As I use it so frequently it’s easily accessible from my ✱ Home.

The other note I use frequently is titled snippets. It’s my collection of frequently used text and graphics such as my coordinates, digital signature, special characters like % ‰ © ½ ¼ ¾ ⅓ ⅔ ⌥+⇧ etc.

I had forgotten I had created a note called Scratchpad which I used like your Jotter. Nowadays for that purpose I use Quick Notes (because there are so many ways to summon it) for links and long form thoughts or jot a short idea at the bottom of the ✱ Home note, which is also easy to reach. My beef with Quick Notes is its initial position on the screen (under the keyboard when you start typing). I'd use the small keyboard but it appears on screen ABOVE the note which I don't find natural. Either way I have to reposition something. Frustrating.

I like your idea of a snippet note. Something to play around with.

How do you summon your Jotter and Snippets notes?

Another idea. Pin your Jotter note. Add two headings, one for Snippets and one for Drafts. Use the heading's Collapse/Expand symbol (down arrow, right arrow) to hide the snippet or drafts when you don't need them.

tvillemw I have them both pinned, but combining them is a great idea. One way I quickly access my Jotter note is via one the monostyled links I added just under the heading of ✱ Home (the other link is Today). Last but not least, typing Jotter into the search bar gets me there as the word doesn't appear anywhere else in my Notes collection
