New to F✱N and spending lots of time today trying to get everything set up. One type of note I can’t quite figure out would be recipes, or another type of note where I generate lots of them.

Should I be expected to create a note for each recipe, tag it appropriately, and then link to it from ✱ Recipes hub? Should I simply be listing them or trying to categorize them?

Sethjk In some of my hubs I include a line at the top with suggested tags:

Tags: Recipe, Nutrition, Health

I include the # sign with each tag in hopes that someday Apple will add the ability to search by tag from inside a note.

Sethjk I've used apple notes for recipe management for quite a while. I use these tags:

all recipes are tagged with #recipe and I keep a Recipe smart folder to organize them
Ethnic or regional recipes are tagged with #Asian #Italian etc
Ones I want to try next are tagged with #mustcook
Ones I've prepared and liked are tagged with #excellent
Ones that are easy and fast are tagged with #quick

I normally don't tag ingredients as search is good enough for that. If the note is just a link, however, to a YouTube video and I haven't summarized it or downloaded the transcript, I will just include ingredients as text in the note rather than tags.

For things like receipts or, in my case, snippets of code, I usually use collections (smart folders) to catch them all. I only link notes in a hub if they belong to a specific area (health, projects, etc.) and would otherwise not have anything in common.

To be able to use collections (smart folders) effectively, tags are essential, in my opinion.

It's very much up to yourself how you want to approach it.
In my case I create a new note / recipe. I tag all notes with #recipe, and also with other appropriate tags like #pork, #keto, #asian etc.
I then use a Collection to list ALL my recipes, but I also have separate Hub where add headlines and categorize some of my recipes a bit more.
