I was reading the post "Linking to files instead of importing files" and it raised a related question: When working with a file in a note, what is the best approach—should I insert the file directly into the note, or store it in the Files app (or Finder on macOS) and link to it?
Previously, I used to store all my files directly in the Notes app. Over time, I accumulated over 20,000 notes, and when I migrated from Evernote to Apple Notes, the process was challenging due to the sheer number and size of the notes. To avoid similar issues, I decided to start storing files in Finder folders instead and keep my notes fewer and lighter. Finder is truly an underrated tool within the Apple ecosystem!
However, I now face the challenge of referencing files stored in Finder within their corresponding notes.
Does anyone have suggestions or ideas on how to handle this effectively?
