Collections vs. Hubs

I'm having a bit of trouble conceptualizing the different use cases for a Collection vs. a Hub. Could someone share their setup in this regard?

In my case, I have some collections like ✱ Projects, ✱ Recipes, ✱ Church, etc… Would Hubs be used to further organize notes within each of these collections or am I missing the idea?

chaselivingston Hi, if we take travel as an example: I have a collection for travel to Vancouver Island (Canadian) another collection for travel to the Maritimes, and so on… I made a hub called ✱ Travel and I have each Vancouver Island and Maritimes notes linked to it. To this Travel Hub I have also linked notes like my packing list and other travel related notes.

My take on it anyway, hope that helps.

GAH That is helpful, thanks! I was thinking about it from the opposite angle where I would have a ✱ Travel collection and then Hubs for the various trips, so maybe I've been thinking about it backwards 🙂

I kind of already had a system that I'm borrowing from, and I called those "Areas" so now in ForeverNotes, I"m calling them "Hub Areas", so can keep the same name and the new Hub name. They are: Finance, Healthcare, Home (a.k.a. House), Learning, Legal, Leisure, Tech, Travel, and Volvo (or could just be called Auto). I hope this will work for me, and I hope it helps you!
If I have it wrong, please feel free to correct me!! 🙏🏼 Do any of you know a reason I shouldn't call Hubs, "Areas"?
