How to quickly find your notes than doesn’t have tags yet.

At the moment of making notes you do not always have time to add all appropriate tags at once.
I added a Smart Folder which selects all notes with NO tags at all. I switched on the option that (smart) folder show the number of notes. This smart folded shows the number of notes without any tag.
Working this way you can easily organise your notes at a later moment in time. As soon as the counter is back to zero you are done.

robt I would use a Shortcut weekly to capture untagged notes to process them since a smart folder with untagged (specifically) filter causes keyboard lag in macOS

You don’t need to make a dedicated folder for untagged notes. If you tap on “All Tags” in the tags section and then tap it again, it will go from highlighted to a strike through and then show only untagged notes.

I like to keep my list of smart folders short so it’s fits on one screen. I just use this tag hack during my weekly review to round up and tag anything I missed previously.

Using Smart Folders, you can also create a 'folder' that contains all notes having no tags whatsoever.

I have 4 of these folders, Untagged Today, Untagged Week, Untagged Month and Untagged.

My goal is to have them all at a count of zero notes. Which I have reached by cheating ( introducing the tag 'notags' if there isn't any subject I could think of to put it under).
