Help! Start my Day

As most people know by now, the latest update has broken a lot of of our shortcuts. My Start My Day shortcut works great—to a point—it is not loading on Today. It appends to the same, undated, seemingly random page. I don’t understand why it appends there. I need help getting the shortcut to append to Today’s page.

In your shortcut, replace the "find notes" action (which is now broken) with this:

format current date (set the format as 'custom' then to dd MMMM)
set variable (add the newly formatted date to this variable and call it Today's Note)
Text (insert the newly set "today's note" variable just by typing it)
Append list (from previous part of the shortcut) to "text" (which replaces the "find note" function)

And let me clarify: the shortcut works great, except that it appends the data to the wrong page and consistently the same wrong page. It doesn’t append the data to “Today”

CrimsonCrow In the shortcut app, press and hold on the shortcut. Select "Share" and then "Copy iCloud-link". Insert link in this forum.

Thanks! Here’s the Shortcut I have been using since F✱N , and some genius wrote it, and I tweaked it for my needs. It still works great, as I said, except it keeps appending to the same note that isn’t even a dated, Today note. So obviously somehow it no longer knows what note I want to append.

thank you for your efforts. It’s not working for me. It’s not appending to any note. And I don’t understand the use of the lists that come up while the shortcut is running asking me to choose certain things, the last one being Notes but there’s only about eight options and none of them are today’s date. so I’m either doing something wrong with those—what I would sort of called drop-down sheets, or it’s just not working.

It’s so sad because my forever ✱ notes and all the shortcuts I had for it all worked perfectly before this blasted update.

Always double digits, with full name of month: 01 April; 07 May; 09 September; 22 October

With “✱ Home | Month | Today | ← Back • Next →“ (without quotes) directly below header date. No header images used above date

“2026 Sat” without quotes created by “Start my Day” shortcut (when it’s working 😉)

Oh, no! I’ve discovered that your fix fixed everything except it isn’t picking up “Appointments”

When run, it returns:

Appointments:

No appointments.

Any help appreciated. 😊

The reason is that we - you and I don’t have the same calendar names and when I edited your date problem the calendar was missing. It’s a quick fix. Just like yo did the first time you godt the shortcut, you have to put in your calendar name.

Edith the shortcut by pressing the 3 dots
Under, find calandra the second one where it says Calendar is not Birthdays - there is a line under where it just says Calendar is - that’s where you pik your own calandat.
