“Content not viewable in your region”

Images on this site are showing as “Content not viewable in your region” for me.

If I use a VPN to change location to e.g. Austria or Eire the images show correctly, but then turning the VPN off I’m back to seeing the “Content not viewable” graphic.

I’m in the UK, so perhaps this is another Brexit fubar.

I’ve now tested this on Safari and Firefox, on home network and at work, on macOS, iPad, iPhone, and the result is the same unless I change my VPN region. This is something to do with the forum not allowing images to be viewed from the UK.

Additionally, the forum software won’t let me add an image to my post unless I switch VPN region to anther country, in this case to post the image below I switched to a server in Austria.

What this all means is that in order to view the helpful images posted by other users here I need to switch region. Something is clearly wrong with the forum setup, or perhaps the author has something against Britain (possibly understandably!)

Yes we UK users need to use a VPN due to the rules brought in by the gov.

Simulac I was joking, and maybe you are too, it’s hard to tell. I’ve never encountered an issue like this aside from with commercial things like TV. It would seem a bit overkill in this instance.

Not joking! It's an Imgur thing. I think the F✱N forum uses Imgur?

As far as I understand it, the UK watchdog found Imgur was not asking users to verify their age, and as such broke the UK rules designed to protect kids online. So they fined them, and Imgur threw a huff and withdrew from the UK!
