Anybody having problems with shortcuts not finding the right note? My “Open Today” note shortcut looking for (25 March) first opened the daily 20 March note then the April note. Tried restarting the phone and manually searching with odd results, this may be a notes issue.

I found a solution in this forum that seems to work. You have to edit the shortcut and use the function Open note. I don’t know if the variabel is neccesary but I’m not touching anything now!

I found this and used it. However it doesn’t seem to fix my daily agenda appending to the correct note. My daily agenda shortcut appends randomly to a note. So I’m 50% of the way there.

Thanks for sharing. I was able to update my Shortcuts that relies creating my daily agenda and appending my completed tasks to yesterday’s note. It appears that the Find Notes is broken. I haven’t found a way to get Open ✱ Home Note to work yet.

I was able to fix the search using Find Note by changing the sort order from Ascending to Descending.

Finsride I tried this and still get unreliable results. It appended my data to April, to a random note and yesterday’s daily note. Hmmmm. More testing to come.

I was able to get my ✱ Home Shortcut to work by making a tag that is only on that note. I did try @Finsride changing the order but that didn’t work for me. Hopefully this helps someone else!

christopher For the home page you should be able to eliminate find and just do Open your home note.

Finsride That is what I had before which didn’t work. It worked prior to the update though.

So I think I came across a solution where I set the Append Note function to add “AllRichText” (my custom daily text) to “Today” a current date variable formatted as “dd MMMM”

This is one of the two reasons why I gave up on Apple Notes. The shortcuts interface just isn't stable. (THe other reason being that over a couple of thousand notes things get unwieldy FAST).

I am having the same problem! On my Mac, Open Today's note shortcut goes to the top of the month ✱ April, not on today's actual date. It still works on IOS. How do I fix this??

Torcal99 I dont have a mac so I cant try this, but I have seen a solutions before regarding sync issues between devices where you insert the Get model (or similar) function at the top of the shortcut. That way Shortcuts understands that you´re on a Mac and acts accordingly. I dont really understand why that would work bit its worth a shot!

Shortcut opens up the Month of April.

Only experiencing this problem on the ipad mini, but iphone 17 pro doesnt have this issue. Shortcut on both devices are identical.

What to do
Use this hierarchy:
Avoid “Find Notes” wherever possible
Replace with:
- direct “Open Note”
- or pre-selected note references
If dynamic logic is required:
- “Find Notes” → immediately pass into Filter Notes
- slower, but more reliable workaround (as users discovered)
