Moving the 388 notes into another Notes folder

I am a new user. I used the Shortcut to download the 388 notes into the (general) Notes folder. I have setup Home and Journal. Can I move the 388 notes into another folder within the Notes app without disrupting what I have already established and have started using? Thank you for the help.

Yes, I moved all my journal notes into a dedicated “Journal” folder shortly after setup before linking (while all other notes remained in the iCloud folder), and that didn’t affect anything.

I’ve also moved some newer notes – like recipe notes – after I had already added links and marked them, and that didn’t cause any issues either.

So based on my experience, moving notes to other folders after setup and linking hasn’t disrupted anything.

That said, I’d suggest trying it with just one note first, to see how it works for you, before moving everything.

[deleted] Moving the notes to their own folder won’t cause any issues. However, there are several reasons to adopt the default folder strategy. The primary reason is that when you create a new note from within another note using the >> command, it will be automatically placed in the same folder as the original note. This can lead to unexpected behavior if you don’t realize that your note is not in the folder you anticipated.
