Hey everyone,
I've been a dedicated user of the Forever ✱ Notes framework since about February this year, I'm a massive fan! It's truly transformed how I organise my thoughts and act as a 'second brain'. The structure for Years, Quarters, Months, and daily notes for goal setting and reflection is incredibly powerful.
However, as I've been refining my personal goal-setting technique, I noticed one small, but logically missing piece in my setup: a dedicated space for weekly goals and review.
While the quarterly and monthly notes provide a great overview, and daily notes capture immediate actions, I found myself needing an intermediate step to bridge that gap. A weekly view allows for more granular planning and reflection, ensuring that my daily actions are truly aligned with my monthly objectives, and ultimately, my yearly aspirations.
So, I've implemented a "Weeks" section into my Forever Notes, and I wanted to share my setup in case it's useful to others in the community. This might not be for everyone, as some may find the monthly view sufficient, but for my workflow, it truly feels like the missing link and has significantly improved my ability to break down and achieve my goals.
My Weekly Notes Setup
Here's a quick overview of how I've integrated weekly notes:
1. The "Weeks" Hub Note
This acts as my central index for all weekly notes. It's easy to navigate to any week from here. Also has quick access to today note and to the current week using shortcut links.

2. Individual Weekly Notes (e.g., "Week 01")
Each week gets its own dedicated note. This is where I set my specific goals for the week, track progress, and jot down any highlights or key takeaways from the seven days. The navigation links make it super easy to jump between weeks, or back to the quarter and month.

3. Linking to the Current Week from my Daily Note
To make it incredibly quick to access the current week's note, I've added a link at the top of my daily notes. This ensures that I can jump to my weekly goals with a single tap, keeping my focus tight.

The Apple Shortcut to Open the Current Week
To make opening the correct weekly note seamless, I've also created an Apple Shortcut. This shortcut automatically calculates the current ISO 8601 week number, formats it (e.g., "01", "15"), constructs the note title (e.g., "Week 01"), and then opens that specific note in Apple Notes.
I hope this gives some of you ideas for further enhancing your Forever Notes setup! It's been a game-changer for my goal setting, and I believe it complements the existing.
Let me know if you have any questions or if you've implemented similar weekly views in your own systems!
