I took the liberty and modify your shortcut.
In the first step, you can select the position at which the image is to be cropped.
In the next step you have two options.
First option: Create a new note, image is inserted directly.
Second option: select an existing note, the note opens and the image is ‘only’ copied to the clipboard and then pasted manually to the desired position.
