"Today"-Note Shortcut Issue

Hi everyone! I'm in the middle on setting up the system and so far I'm absolutely loving it! Only today I was running into an issue that wasn't there two days ago and let's just say, it baffles me. It's the "Open Today's Note"-shortcut that I have simply copied from the Forever Notes documentation. It has worked for, like, five days! Today, however, when using on Notes for MacBook, it opens another menu to choose from, like this:

So, that's weird. I tried my phone. The first four times I tried it cancelled the shortcut, I just wanted to make a screenshot to show it and now it works again. Things work fine on my iPad, as well.

So, I checked the shortcut in the shortcuts-app and it look absolutely fine (obviously, since I've just copied it and never changed a thing).

Any ideas what the problem might be and how to solve it?

I think I had the same issue at one point. It appeared that I had notes with titles that looked too much like just the date. For example the today note shortcut does not differentiate between the daily note '02 May' and for example a note '02 May 2023 Journal'.
I solved that issue by moving all the Forever✱Notes journal notes into a seperate folder "Journal" for example. And modifying the today note shortcut to only look inside that folder.

AnneVoss Thanks so much for the idea, unfortunately, that didn't work out. Maybe I'll find another solution.

Have you check the formating in the Shortcut?

Same here, it's working fine on iPhone and iPad but not on my MacBook.

Just solved the problem: the language on your device needs to be English otherwise the date generated in the shortcut is wrong. Not sure if there is a workaround for it..

I found what needs to be changed in order to work with systems in French. When I will find a minute, I will post my solution.

Here are the changes I made to the Today Prep shortcut, so that it works with my French system:

Add a step to format the current date so that we get the day of the week

Modify the "If" steps that refer to week days used (Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Friday) to fit the short name of these days in your language.
